Fishing
Monocacy Park Bethlehem PA is a nice area to enjoy fishing. The Creek has great habitat, good hatches, and lots of wild brown trout. It is also well stocked with rainbow trout.
Monocacy Creek flows for 20.3 miles from its headwaters in Chapman, PA, to its confluence with the Lehigh River in Bethlehem. This section of the creek is Class A Wild Trout Waters, which is a great place to fish.
During the spring and fall, Monocacy Creek is known for its impressive insect hatch and cool water. Some of the bigger hatches include Sulphurs and Tricos.

Trails
Monocacy Park is the largest park in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Built by the Works Progress Administration, the park has a variety of activities and attractions. It includes stone walks, a swimming pool, and pavilions. There are also footbridges and a fireplace.
The park is dog-friendly. Large dogs are fenced-in, but small dogs can run off-leash.
One of the best things to do in the park is to walk or ride your bike down the Monocacy Way Trail. This trail is a popular hiking and walking trail in Bethlehem, PA.
The trail starts in the park and follows Monocacy Creek. It passes through Burnside Plantation, Illick’s Mill, and Paint Mill Pond.

Nature center
The Monocacy Nature Center is located near the intersection of PA 191 and Broadhead Road. This eight acre park offers trails, creeks, and woodlands. It also features an interpretive kiosk.
There are also a number of other areas in the region to take advantage of. From running paths to biking trails, there are dozens of places to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors.
One of the more impressive features is the reconstructed mill. The historic site was once a family farm. After Archibald Johnston passed away in 1918, nature slowly reclaimed the land.
The nature center at Illick’s Mill has been a popular place for weddings, corporate events, and other activities. But the center is going through some transitions as it tries to figure out its next steps.
Picnic areas & 2 pavilions
Having a picnic in Monocacy Park in Bethlehem, PA is one of the best ways to spend a warm summer day. It is a popular park with hiking trails, sports fields, picnic areas, a playground and more.
There are two pavilions in the park, one featuring a fireplace and the other with a great view of the Lehigh River. Both of these pavilions are open to the public.

If you haven’t been to Monocacy Park in recent years, you might not be aware of it. The park features several attractions – the aptly named monocacy creek, an 8-acre streamside park, and a small lake – which is perfect for catching a few rays. In addition, the park is connected to Dutch Springs Natural Heritage Area and features a pedestrian bridge over the creek.
The park is also home to two sand courts and one turf court. As for the requisite amenities, the park boasts a network of trails, a dog park, and two playgrounds.
However, if you want to get some exercise in, you’ll want to visit Country Club Park, a 100-acre expanse located just off of Country Club Road. This park is also home to a few laudable features – including a water fountain and the best lawn in the city. Up next is Lost River Caverns.
